Acton District School Master Clubs List

Student Council

  • A club all about promoting school spirit and running events for students, by students

  • Provides student voice and leadership opportunities within our school

  • Organize charitable fundraisers, spirit weeks, school dances and much more!

Grade 7 & 8 students meet in the cafeteria Thursdays at first break 11:00-11:20

Grades 7-12 meet after school on Thursdays for Mega Council meeting/planning.

Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA)

  • A positive and fun space for LGBTQ25++ youth and their allies to hang out

  • Providing a safe zone for discussions around gender identity, sexuality and other issues faced by queer youth

  • Promoting equality, awareness and education around LGBTQ calendar such as National Coming Out Day and the international Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.

Grade 7 & 8 students meet Wednesdays at lunch in room 107

Bearcat (Link) Crew

  • An opportunity for grade 10, 11 and 12's to provide leadership opportunities within our school community

  • Responsible for running the grade 9 orientation at the beginning of the year and other events that support grade 9's throughout the school year

  • Applications for Link Crew available in the spring

Chess Board Club

  • A fun and pretty informal group learning how to play chess

  • We meet period 3 lunch in 306 and period 4 lunch in room 307 (potential afterschool in room 303)

Equity Team - Grades 7 - 12

  • We provide a safe and inclusive space for students to speak about Equity and social justice, to learn from others, and to engage in meaningful change for self and community

  • Beginning Thursday Sept 23 meetings are held every Tuesday at 3:30 room 210

Garden Club Grades 7 -12

  • Watch for this fun and exciting opportunity in the spring 2023

  • Learn how to grow all types of plants, food, herbs and more!

  • We will be planting indoor, outdoor and for sustainability, create living art in the school

ABC Business Company

  • This program is within Grade 10 Business but open to all secondary students interested

  • Students develop and run their own summer business

  • Mentor a team made up of Mr Braun, Ms. Houston, local business owners and community interest groups

  • Grants given to students, funded from local donations

  • Awesome opportunity!

Eco Club Grade 7 - 12

  • Do you care about Mother Earth and have a passion to improve the world we live in?

  • Join this club and you will learn to reduce, reuse, and recyle

  • Walk and bike to school

  • Participate in Earth Day, Earth Hour

  • You can make a difference

Concert Band Grades 7 - 12

  • Do you enjoy playing music? Meeting new people? Concert band meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays 3:30 - 5:00 in room 205

Choir Grades 7 - 12

  • Love to sing? Choir is your perfect opportunity to show off your talent. Choir meets Thursdays 3:30 - 5:00 in room 205

Improv Club Grades 7-12

  • The Improv Club has been meeting once a week for over 20 years. While the club introduces members to Improv principles and performance games, Improv Club members mostly get together to be creative, silly and make each other laugh. All students are welcome. In the past the Improv Club has performed in a variety of local venues.

INT Robotics/Coding Grade 7 & 8

  • No experience is necessary to join in the fun and learning

  • 2 vex IQ robots (including competition fields and elements) and 5 FTC robots (no competition field or elements at the moment) available for use.

French Club Grades 9 - 12

  • Do you want to expand your French vocabulary? Join like minded people biweekly Tuesdays Period 3 lunch room 306

  • This club is open to all levels of French learners looking to improve their language skills by watching movies, shows, listening to music, having casual conversation, and more!

Art Club Grades 7 - 12

  • Do you have a passion for Art and looking for opportunity to work on individual or collaborative art projects? Come out Wednesdays 3:30 to 5:00. You will learn new techniques and a variety of materials are available for you to use.

Well-Being Club Grades 9 - 12

Team Unbreakable Grades 9-12

  • Team Unbreakable is a group that focus on exercise and its beneficial relationship to mental health!

  • The group meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays period 3

  • Learn to run 5KM, strength training and skills for well-being

Announcements Grades 9-12

  • Let your voice be heard doing the morning announcements

  • 8:30 in the Office you will play music playlists as students enter school. Play the National Anthem and Honouring the Land over the PA system.

  • Learn what happens behind the scenes in creating your morning announcements

  • Students learn how to create and post video announcements using microphones, filming equipment, and green screens

Law Club Grades 9-12

  • Interested in learning about the law? This club is for you. No previous experience with law is required.

  • The law club is for students who are interested in learning more about the law through fun activities like mock trials, guest speakers, and case discussions

  • Club meets Mondays 3:30

D & D Club

  • This club is for students who are interested in playing Dungeons & Dragons
