The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is launching the Aspen Family Portal in Spring 2025. The Aspen Family Portal is a login-protected space where parents/guardians can access:
Student information: View demographics, contact details and real-time attendance records.
Report cards: Access your child’s report cards electronically, replacing paper copies unless specifically requested. Once your account is active, any report cards that appear will remain available in the Aspen Family Portal for future reference. Please note that report cards from before the launch of the Aspen Family Portal will not be accessible.
One-stop access to important links: Easily access important and useful HDSB-approved websites, eliminating the need to search for or save essential links.
Activate your Aspen Family Portal Account
Please use a computer (not a mobile device) and follow these steps to activate an HDSB parent/guardian account in our secure Aspen Student Information System.
This account is meant to be created by a parent/guardian. A valid e-mail address (the email address on file at your child’s school) is required to verify your identity when requesting an account. Once the account is created, you will be able to login to the HDSB Family Portal.
Accessing the HDSB Online Registration Site
Go to the HDSB - Aspen Login page at https://hdsb.myontarioedu.ca/aspen/logon.do
First-Time Users
If you did not create an HDSB Aspen account when registering your child for school, create an account by following the steps under Creating Your HDSB Aspen Account.
Returning Users
If you created an HDSB Aspen Account when you registered your child for school, follow the instructions for Logging into Your Account below.

Go to the HDSB - Aspen Login page at https://hdsb.myontarioedu.ca/aspen/logon.do
First-Time Users
If you did not create an HDSB Aspen account when registering your child for school, create an account by following the steps under Creating Your HDSB Aspen Account.
Returning Users
If you created an HDSB Aspen Account when you registered your child for school, follow the instructions for Logging into Your Account below.
Creating Your HDSB Aspen Account
Open the HDSB Aspen Family Portal:https://hdsb.myontarioedu.ca/aspen/logon.do
At the Halton District School Board login screen, in the Login ID field, enter your email address (the one on file at your child’s school) and then select Trouble logging in? to set/reset your password. NOTE: This does not appear if using a mobile device, you must use a computer.
Select Reset Your Password.
Provide your Login ID - the primary email address on file at your child’s school.
a. Password Requirements:
i. Minimum length is 6
ii. At least one number
iii. At least one capital and lowercase letter
iv. Can’t contain ‘password’, login name, first name, middle name, last name, date of birth, personal id, or only sequential letters or numbers.
Congratulations! You have created an HDSB Aspen Account. Proceed to Logging into Your Account and login to continue to the HDSB Aspen Family Portal.
Logging into Your Account
Go to the Halton District School Board login screen https://hdsb.myontarioedu.ca/aspen/logon.do Enter your email address (the one you created your account with).
Enter the password you created when creating an account.
Select the Log On button.
Forgot Your Password
If you have already created an account but forgotten your password, you can do the following:
Use the Registration link on the HDSB website or open the Online Registration webpage: https://hdsb.myontarioedu.ca/aspen/logon.do
At the log on screen, enter the email address that you used when creating your account in the Login ID field.
Select Trouble Logging In?
Select Reset Your Password.
Follow the instructions that appear to set a new password.
